Dramatically improve your red and brown pigment problems

It’s unavoidable, we all spend our fair share of time in the sun. As we age, we become more likely to experience the side effects of premature aging due to sun damage. IPL photo facials are designed to improve the overall texture and appearance of your skin for a healthy and refreshed look.

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, a breakthrough treatment designed to help restore the appearance of your skin without causing damage to the skin’s surface. When applied to your face, IPL technology can dramatically improve red and brown pigmentation problems.

Side Effects & Recovery Times
Following your procedure, you may experience mild to moderate redness, which lasts 1 to 3 days. The pigment in your targeted treatment area(s) will also turn darker over the next 48 hours, however skin will naturally exfoliate (or flake off) within 1 week.
Results

What to expect during your visit?

Consultation

Similar to other medical procedures, your provider will take time before your session to discuss your problem areas, as well as your medical history, to ensure IPL Photo Facial treatments are the right option for you. They will also determine how many treatments you need to achieve the best results. Your provider may also take photos of the area(s) receiving treatment. These photos will be used to show your before and after transformation!

Treatment

Your provider will clean and prep your treatment area(s). They will also apply a topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort during your procedure. Once your treatment area is prepared, your provider will move their laser over the skin in a grid-like pattern, flashing the light about every centimeter. Depending on your specific needs, your provider may need to go over your treatment area multiple times.

Post-Treatment

Following your IPL treatment, your provider will clean your skin. Although photo facials typically do not require any downtime, you may experience mild to moderate redness. However, you can apply your makeup right away (if you choose to do so). We also recommend you avoid exposure to the sun for at least a week after your session and be sure to apply sunscreen regularly.

Frequently Asked Questions

IPL photo facials work by targeting a beam of light to your specific treatment area(s), such as enlarged brown spots or large blood vessels. IPL laser treatments work by gently penetrating the top layers of your skin to eliminate the underlying pigment and vessels causing damage to your skin. Unlike other treatments, such as chemical peels that remove an outer layer of skin and require significant healing time, the outer skin itself is not damaged, resulting in a significantly reduced healing process.

Using the Palomar Starlux 500, our IPL facials use a broad spectrum of multiple light wavelengths to help individuals of all ages to achieve fresh, smooth, and vibrant skin tone and texture.
