What You Need to Know

Everybody sweats. While exercising, in hot external temperatures or during moments of high anxiety, sweat glands can become activated anywhere on the body, but occurs most often on the face, underarms, palms or soles of the feet. Some people however may experience excessive amounts of sweating even when conditions don’t call for it. This condition is known as hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis occurs when the nerves which dictate your sweat glands become overactive and produce more perspiration than is needed. Sometimes the tendency to over perspire can be caused by an underlying medical condition (referred to as secondary hyperhidrosis), or from an unknown cause (known as primary hyperhidrosis).

No matter the origin, excessive sweating can be annoying, uncomfortable and downright embarrassing. Women who experience excessive sweating of the face, may find it hard to wear makeup.

People who suffer from extra underarm perspiration may even experience social anxiety with arms locked at their sides not wanting to shake hands, indulge in a hugging embrace or raise your hand during a class, seminar or meeting.

Well don’t sweat it my friend, because at Aurora Medical Spa a simple injection can help to alleviate excessive sweating so you can go about your day. Contact Aurora Medical Spa to learn more about Botox injections and how they can help manage unwanted excess sweat today.
