How Microneedling Works

Microneedling works by encouraging your skin to produce more collagen. Leveraging the latest innovative Rejuvapen technology, microneedling utilizes nine microneedles placed in a small cartridge to create a series of invisible, vertical micro perforations into the topmost layer of your skin.

When these needles make contact with the skin, they create tiny punctures on your skin’s surface, which trigger the body’s natural healing process and subsequent collagen production without damaging the surrounding healthy tissues. Your Treatment Experience

Upon thoroughly cleaning the skin, your provider will gently apply a handheld device across your treatment area. Microneedling involves numerous tiny needles entering the skin, with each point creating a small channel that the body “reads” as a wound. This prompts a healing response, which includes renewed collagen production to repair the skin. The process also improves the texture of the skin surrounding each small channel. Depending on your specific needs, microneedling treatments typically last approximately 60 minutes.

After Your Procedure Recovery and Results

Some clients experience mild tenderness, redness, and swelling in their treatment areas (similar to a mild sunburn). These side effects typically resolve within hours. Your results will include improved brightness, enhanced skin tone, reduced pore size, improved acne scarring, and more radiant skin, and you’ll start to notice these results within just a few days of your treatment. After your treatment, you can resume your normal daily activities right away, but we do recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun for one to two weeks after your treatment.

As a surface treatment, microneedling treatments produce minimal side effects. However, you may experience mild tenderness, redness, and swelling around your treatment area(s). These side effects typically resolve within a few hours after your procedure.

How long will my results last?

The results of microneedling treatments are not permanent, as our skin cells typically regenerate every 30 days. For optimal results, we recommend scheduling follow-up treatments every six to eight weeks after you reach your target skin goals.

How soon will I experience results after my microneedling procedure?

Most of our clients experience noticeable results immediately following their first series of microneedling treatments. However, we recommend a series of three to five treatments, spaced four weeks apart, to experience optimal results. Once you achieve your target results, we recommend maintenance treatments every six to eight weeks.

Are microneedling treatments painful?

Microneedling treatments work on the surface layers of the skin, and most of our clients report no pain at all. However, you may experience mild tenderness, redness, and swelling for a few hours after your procedure. Your provider can apply a topical numbing cream before your treatment to ensure your maximum comfort.
