Frequently Asked Questions
Using a diamond tip wand, microdermabrasion gently exfoliates your skin, removing the outermost layer of dry and dead cells. By removing your top layer of skin, your body will quickly replace the lost dead skin cells with healthy, new ones. This virtually painless procedure can be used on the neck, face, chest, back, and hands.
Microdermabrasion treatments are designed to reduce fine lines, minor scars, wrinkles, and age spots while exposing your younger cells to create a smoother and younger-looking complexion. Additionally, regular microdermabrasion treatments can stimulate your blood flow, which improves cell production, and improves elasticity and texture.
Microdermabrasion treatments are an excellent, non-invasive procedure to exfoliate and remove the superficial layer of dead, dry skin cells. Microdermabrasion is a commonly used exfoliation treatment used to improve the texture of your rough skin.
Common benefits to microdermabrasion include:
- Lighten hyperpigmentation and age spots

- Minimal downtime
As a surface treatment, microdermabrasion treatments produce minimal side effects. However, you may experience mild tenderness, redness, and swelling. These side effects typically resolve within a few hours after your procedure.
Our skin typically regenerates every 30 days. Results and improvements following microdermabrasion treatments are temporary and will need to be repeated every 2 to 4 weeks. For optimal results, we recommend scheduling followup treatments for 6 to 12 weeks.
Most of our patients experience noticeable results immediately following their microdermabrasion treatments, to include improved brightness, enhanced skin tone, and youthful-looking radiant skin. We recommend eight to ten sessions to achieve the optimal benefits of microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion treatments work on the surface layers of the skin, and most of our patients report no pain at all. However, you may experience mild tenderness, redness, and swelling for a few hours after your procedure.
